Reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and community welfare, Raichem has launched two impactful initiatives in Raichur, Karnataka, addressing critical challenges related to access to clean drinking water and food security for hospital visitors.
Clean Drinking Water Initiative: RO Plant Installed in Raichur
In response to the severe drinking water challenges in Raichur—recognized as one of the hottest regions in Karnataka—Raichem has installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) drinking water plant under its CSR program.
The facility was inaugurated by Kailash Sharma, Managing Director of Raichem, alongside Pralhad Rao K, Plant Head, at the premises of the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services.
This initiative ensures a reliable and sustainable source of safe, purified drinking water, primarily benefiting fire service personnel—frontline responders essential to public safety—and their families. Additionally, nearby residents will also have access to the facility, extending its positive impact to the wider community.
By addressing a fundamental need such as clean water access, Raichem continues to contribute to improving public health, safety, and quality of life in the regions where it operates.
Food Support Program for Hospital Attendants at RIMS
Complementing its water initiative, Raichem has also supported a daily free meal program for attendants of patients at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital.
This initiative, carried out in collaboration with the EFA Foundation and Raichem Medicare Pvt Ltd, addresses the pressing issue of food scarcity among hospital visitors, particularly those traveling from remote villages across the Raichur district.
Due to the hospital’s location outside the city, access to affordable and nutritious food can be difficult for families accompanying patients. The program now provides free afternoon meals to approximately 350 people every day, ensuring that caregivers can focus on supporting their loved ones without the added burden of food insecurity.
The program continues to operate successfully through the ongoing collaboration between Raichem Medicare and the EFA Foundation.
