N-Acetyl-D-Mannosamine
NZPN-Acetyl-D-mannosamine, manufactured according to cGMP at our NZP site is a rare monosaccharide involved in a range of metabolic processes. It is often used as a precursor in the chemical or enzymatic synthesis of the neuraminic acids found in glycolipids and glycoproteins.
In biological systems it is the precursor compound for the biosynthesis of the sialic acids especially N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac, NANA). For this reason N-acetyl-D-mannosamine is of keen interest to scientists around the world. ICE Pharma’s N-acetyl-D-mannosamine is high purity semi-synthetic suitable for all purposes.
